CAD, 3D Printing & Visualisation

From CAD to Label Tags

Developing a label-tag design through CAD, physical prototypes and finished product visuals.

The project

Bringing a Label-Tag Design into Focus

This project brought together digital design, physical prototyping and product presentation. We developed the label tags in CAD, created 3D-printed prototypes and produced finished visuals showing the design with QR-code label artwork.

The design includes two tag variations, each with a recessed square label area and a different attachment tab. Our CAD services, 3D printing and prototyping, and product visualisation supported these different aspects of the project.

Our approach

From Digital Model to Physical Prototype

Two label-tag variants in the CAD workspace, showing the recessed faces and attachment details
The two label-tag variations developed in CAD.

01 · Building the CAD model

We defined the tags’ square profiles, raised edges and recessed label areas in CAD, establishing the geometry of the design.

02 · Defining the variations

The model shows two attachment options: a shorter tab and an extended tab, each with openings. Both share the same square label area.

03 · Creating printed prototypes

We created 3D-printed prototypes of the label tags, taking the design from a digital model into physical form.

04 · Producing the visuals

We produced finished product visualisations with surface detail, lighting and QR-code artwork to show how the tags could look with their labels in place.

The outcome

One Design, Digital and Physical

The project delivered CAD models, 3D-printed prototypes and finished product visuals. Together, these show the label tags’ geometry, bring the design into physical form and present it with materials and label artwork.
